Red Hot Mutton Curry
Ingredients:
Mutton 1 Kg
Ginger paste 1 tbsp
Onion paste 1 tbsp
Cloves 7/8
Garlic paste 1 tbsp
Red chili paste 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder 2 tbsp
Yellow mustard seed paste 25 gm
Poppy seed paste 1 tbsp
Mustard oil 4 tbsp
Ghee 1 tsp
Garam masala powder 1tsp
Sugar & salt to taste
Beaten plain curd 2 tbsp
Preparation:
Heat oil in a thick-bottomed pan. Add the garlic paste, ginger paste and onion paste and stir on a low flame till it turns light brown. Next add red chili paste and turmeric powder and stir on a low flame for a couple of minutes. Add washed meat pieces to the fried spices and stir for 10-15 minutes. Next pour the beaten curd into the mixture. Continue stirring while sprinkling little water to it from time to time. Next add sugar and salt to taste. When the meat is tender, add the mixture of mustard and poppy seeds paste. Keep on stirring at a low flame until oil separates from the meat. Mix ghee with garam masala and gently pour into the meat. Serve hot with steaming rice or paratha.
