Memories of the Thakurbari
68 years since the passing away of Rabindranath Tagore, his ancestral home, the Jorasanko Thakurbari, is still evocative of Bengal’s awakening and some surprisingly progressive minds who were the vanguards of it. Built in 1784, the Thakurbari now houses the Rabindra Bharati Museum where some rare paintings, manuscripts, photographs, books and journals have been kept on display. A video by Smita Sharma with Kaushik Sarkar on camera.
