Anandabazar Patrika

The British reacted severely to Mahatma Gandhi's Non Cooperation movement in 1921. Mahatma was arrested and imprisoned for six years on 10th March, 1922. Three days later, on Holi Day, the first issue of Anandabazar Patrika appeared as an eveninger. Prafulla Kumar Sarkar was the founder editor and Suresh Chandra Majumdar was the founder-publisher. The first issue was printed in red ink.
