The Indian Football Association (IFA), founded in 1893, is the organisation that administers the game of football in the state of West Bengal. Interestingly, the association does not manage the game in India. This administration is rather done by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). However, before the AIFF was established, the IFA, by virtue of its English administrators as well as its affiliation to the Football Association of England, was authority of football in India.
The IFA was influential in establishing the AIFF to administer football on a nationwide basis in India.
