Ferry Service

If you're in a hurry to catch your train from Howrah, try the Ferry Service on the Hooghly instead of being stuck in a traffic jam on Howrah Bridge. The Ferry service connects Kolkata to Howrah and provides a cheap alternative route to the Howrah rail terminus. Ferry services along the Hooghly also provide a hassle-free and relaxed way to see many of Kolkata's top attractions. Ferry services are run by two agencies - the state-owned West Bengal Surface Transport Corporation and the cooperative Hooghly Nadi Jalpath Paribahan Samanbay Samiti.
