The oldest church of the city, and the first Anglican church of India, it is also home to the tomb of the supposed founder of Kolkata, Job Charnock. Designed by Lieutenant James Agg of the Bengal Engineers resembling the famous St. Martin-in-the-Fields church of London, its construction was completed by the year 1787. The obelisk commemorating the Black Hole was moved from near the GPO to a corner of the graveyard here. It is home to the tombs of other distinguished British individuals like Lord Brabourne, Lady Canning and Admiral Watson, amongst others. It also houses the striking and famous painting of The Last Supper by the renowned German painter Johann Zoffani.
