Passionate about Italian food? Stop by chef Davide Cananzi’s Italian Affair food festival at Mythh, the coffee shop at HHI. It’s a lavish spread with
zuppe (soup),
insalate (salads), antipasti, pasta, main courses and
dolci (dessert). “The Italian food fest is concentrated on central and south Italian cuisine that is rich in flavour and more suited to the Asian palate. I have used a variety of cheese, mushroom, Parma ham and vinegar that are all from Italy,” says chef Davide.
The menu includes a handpicked selection of the chef’s personal favourites like Penne al Salmon and Vodka and the Risotto al Limone e Spinaci. A recommended three-course meal for vegetarians would start with the Potato and Leek Soup, moving on to Asparagi al Taleggio Antipasti and Baked Gnocchi with Tomatoes and Mozzarella. For meat-eaters, there is Caesar Salad with Shrimps, Penne with Salmon and Vodka and the Grilled Jumbo Prawns with Spaghetti.
“My grandmother’s recipes have been used for the desserts, so they have got a home-made appeal,” says Davide. The Italian classic Tiramisu is the perfect end to the meal. Or you can try the Warm Apple Cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a hot and cold delight recommended by the chef. The Italian Affair food fiesta is on till 27 June for lunch and dinner. A buffet spread costs Rs 1,200 per person, while an a la carte meal for two should come for around Rs 1,300.
