Masala Vada

Delicious masala vadas
Ingredients-

- 1 cup chana (yellow) dal

- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

- 1/2 cup coriander, finely chopped

- 1/2 cup dill leaves finely chopped


- 3 to 4 green chillies finely chopped

- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

- oil to deep fry



Method:

1. Wash the dal and soak for 3-4 hours, then coarsely grind it.

2. Mix all the ingredients together, including dal.

3. Add 2-3 tbsp hot oil to the mixture.

4. Heat oil, make pattie shaped rounds with moist palm.

5. Let it carefully into the hot oil.

6. Fry one side at a time till it turns golden brown.

7. Serve hot with green chutney, tamarind chutney or ketchup.


Makes: 15 vadas (approx.)

Preparation time:
20 minutes (excluding soaking time)

Shelflife: Best when eaten fresh
