Time for another Bheja Fry
It is
deja vu time for movie buffs here as English comedy
Dinner for Schmucks based on French play by Francis Veber
The Dinner Game (original French title:
Le dîner de cons) hits the screens today which was also adopted as
Bheja Fry in Hindi.
Dinner for Schmucks goes a step ahead of
Bheja Fry and the audience will get to see the schmuck dinner, which was not seen in
Bheja Fry neither was it shown in
The Dinner Game.
In
Bheja Fry, there was only one schmuck, Vinay Pathak while here the audience gets to see a bunch of schmucks at their idiotic best.
Audience will be treated to the funniest dinner ever with an elaborate dinner sequence.
The character of music producer Rajat Kapoor from
Bheja Fry is being played by Paul Rudd in the English film. Tim Conrad (Paul's character in the film) and his office mates attend a dinner for schmucks, where everyone is supposed to walk in with a weirdo and the one with the biggest schmuck wins and gets promoted.
"Schmuck" is a slang for clumsy or stupid person.
Vinay Pathak's quirky role is being played by funny man Steve Carell, who spends his free time making detailed dioramas with dead mice. It's similar to the scrap book which Vinay Pathak used to carry with him everywhere.
The character of Sarika, Rajat Kapoor's wife, is being played by Stephanie Szostak.
Milind Soman's role of Sarika's lover is being essayed by Jemaine Clement, a weird but good-looking self-obsessed artist, who paints himself in most of his paintings.
