Peepli Live is comic and thoughtful: Aamir

While promoting Peepli Live in New York, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently described the upcoming film as very funny and thought provoking.

“I really like the script. It is a funny film. It takes a very comic look at our society, and it is also very thought provoking, so I liked it very much,” said Khan.

Peepli Live, which is produced by Aamir, stars Raghubir Yadav, Naseeruddin Shah and Malaika Shenoy, among others.

The actor also added that many of the actors in this movie were newcomers.

“I think the actors have done a great job. In fact, they are all new but the kind of work they have done here is amazing. I have been working for 20 years, but these actors are 10 times ahead of me in their first film,” added Aamir.

He also said that he was working on his forthcoming movies Dhobi Ghat, written and directed by his wife Kiran Rao, and Delhi Belly. He is the producer of both these films.

Peepli Live is the fourth film of Aamir Khan Productions, which also produced Taare Zameen Par, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and Lagaan.

Peepli Live is slated for release on 13 August.
