TMC Youth demo near Writers', 38 held

Kolkata, 7 Sept: Nearly 40 activists of the Trinamool Youth Congress were today arrested while staging demonstrations in front of the Writers' Buildings (state secretariat), violating prohibitory orders in force there, police said.

Trinamool Congress, which was opposing today's strike called by trade unions, were protesting bandhs for the third time on the same issue in the state.

Police took into custody 38 of the protesters and sent them to city police headquarters at Lalbazar.

The TMC demonstrators were raising slogans against the frequent bandhs and were holding placards with slogans against the frequent bandhs.
