Pachauri won’t resign
R.K. Pachauri, head of the UN's Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), who is under attack from various quarters over an IPCC report clarified his stand at a press conference in New Delhi on Saturday. Pachauri ruled out his resignation, but admitted that the mistake was unfortunate. He termed as human error the findings in the IPCC report which said that glaciers in the Himalayas would disappear by 2035 due to global warming. A video report.

With India heading towards the Lok Sabha elections, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan launched an ad film on voter awareness featuring him. An initiative of the Ahmedabad-based non-political group, Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), the campaign is aimed at creating awareness on the power of the vote among a large youth population. The campaign theme "Sacche ko chune, acche ko chune" also carries the message that one should be fully informed of the antecedents of the person they vote for.
