Probe into exact cause of collision
Hours of the massive collision between the Uttar Banga and Vananchal Express at Sainthia station in Birbhum, Indian Railways spokesperson Anil Saxena said that the exact cause of the accident would be known after a thorough probe into the incident. The toll in the train collision rose to 66 today with three injured passengers of the Vananchal Express succumbing to injuries at the Burdwan Medical College Hospital.

Second train mishap in WB in 2 months
At least 55 people are feared dead and over 150 injured when Sealdah-bound Uttarbanga Express rammed into the Vanachal Express at Sainthia station in Bhirbhum district. This was the second major rail mishap in West Bengal in two months. The accident occurred around 1.50 am when the Uttarbanga Express overshot a signal and telescoped into the rear of the Vananchal Express.

The Union cabinet gave the rupee a new symbol — only the fifth currency in the world to acquire a distinctive identity. The symbol — created by D. Udaya Kumar, who teaches at IIT Mumbai’s Industrial Design Centre and is about to join Guwahati IIT — blends the Roman letter R without its stem with the Devnagari script’s Ra.

Rabindranath Tagore's 'Musolmanir Galpo' tells the story of a Hindu bride whose palanquin is attacked by dacoits en route to her husband's home. Kamala is saved by an elderly Muslim man, Hobir Khan, who then takes her to his home. However, she comes to live in her rescuer's household after being rejected by her own family. It is Khan who trains Kamala to protect other brides from meeting a similar fate.
