Kolkata wore a deserted look today as private buses, minibuses and auto rickshaw operators went on an indefinite strike after their meeting with the West Bengal government regarding the High Court order banning 15-year-old vehicles in the city failed. The strike called by, The Save Commercial Transport Committee, an umbrella organization of commercial transport operators, left many commuters waiting for state-run buses to reach their destinations.
