Himalayan glaciers at melting point
Glaciers in India's Himalayan region are melting very fast than those in other parts of the world due to global warming, warn scientists. Scientists at the GB Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment and Development at Mohal in Himachal Pradesh have been closely monitoring and studying the impact of global warming on these glaciers in the region. They say glaciers are thawing at the rate of 10 to 26 metres every year.
