Dalai Lama, Tibet's exiled leader today began a weeklong visit to Arunachal Pradesh. The Dalai Lama arrived by helicopter in the remote Buddhist enclave nestled in the icy folds of the Himalayas. The Tibetan leader was welcomed by thousands of people lining the road to Tawang. Roads were washed, welcome gates with colourful Buddhist paintings erected and the valley's main monastery was decked up for the leader’s visit.
