Republic Day parade in Kolkata
The 61st Republic Day parade was held on Red Road in the city, with Bengal's newly appointed Governor M. K. Narayanan hoisting the tricolour. Military parades, march pasts and cultural functions were performed by school children and dance troops. Also present on the occasion were Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, state ministers, bureaucrats, diplomats and other dignitaries. A video report.
