Fuel prices hiked after Budget
The midnight of 26-27 February witnessed a sharp hike in prices of petrol and diesel. This came just hours after Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee announced in Budget 2010-11 a proposal to hike central excise duty on petrol and diesel and all non-petroleum products. The proposal has sparked demand for a rollback of the fuel price hike from parties fearing a cascading effect on food prices. A video report.
