Kashmir's Hangul faces extinction
The Kashmir stag locally known as Hangul are facing a threat due to the gradual destruction of its natural habitation. Owning to deforestation, excessive livestock grazing and frequent forest fires, the endangered species is facing extinction. Wildlife officials inform that Hangul which is found only in Kashmir, has only 160 animals in existence as per a preliminary census.
