Annika Lindgren, granddaughter of the Queen of Fairytales Astrid Lindgren, visited Oxford bookstore on November 11 to promote Pippi Longstocking. The children’s book is being published in India for the first time, and the promotion of the same brought the Swedish lady to India. Annika’s visit to Kolkata was more like a Children’s Day gift as spoke of her memories of her grandmother before reading a few pages from Pippi Longstocking. This was followed by the screening of an episode of the Pippi series, accompanied by chuckles and laughter from children sitting in the audience.
