Director Gautam Ghose has made ‘Kaalbela’, the famous novel by Samaresh Majumder, into a feature film. Initially planned as a mini series for Kolkata Doordarshan, the film's story is set against the backdrop of Kolkata during the troubled 60s and 70s. Kolkata Doordarshan eventually decided to release 'Kaalbela' as a movie. Starring Soumitra Chatterjee, Parambrata and Shanti Mukherjee, it would be interesting to see how the Gen-Nex relates to the tumultuous period of Naxalite movements. The Trailer.
