Hoteliers in Jammu and Kashmir have decided to offer heavy discounts and attractive packages to woo tourists back to picturesque Kashmir. Hotel owners have slashed down tariff ranging from 30 to50 percent and are offering attractive packages with an aim of making the state a year-round tourist destination. According to hoteliers, occupancy in hotels dropped from 100 percent in June 2008 to almost zero in months of November and December.
