Since natural colours are dissolvable in water, immersion of these idols will not cause pollution. So far, the idols have been made with materials like plaster of Paris which are not dissolvable. This has caused a reduction in oxygen level in water and the death of aquatic animals. |

Kashmir solution cannot be bought: Omar |

SC rejects Ayodhya verdict deferment plea |
| In a unanimous decision, the apex court has rejected the petition to defer the verdict on the Ayodhya case. The move has thus paved the way for Allahabad High Court to deliver its judgement on the 60 year old Babri Masjid dispute. The high court is expected to pronounce its decision on 30 September. |

Mamata to ask PM for hills package |
