	Pranab happy with 8.5% growth

	Citu muscles out taxis
	Citu flexed its muscles to enforce its 12-hour taxi strike on Tuesday, causing inconvenience to commuters at many places in and around the city. Supporters of the CPI(M)-backed labour organisation, in teams of five to 10, stood with bamboo sticks, brickbats and flags at various points in the city, intimidating taxi drivers and commuters alike. Operators said nearly 40 per cent of taxis that plied on Tuesday had to pull over by the road and stay parked till the strike ended at 6pm.

	Probe into exact cause of collision
	Hours of the massive collision between the Uttar Banga and Vananchal Express at Sainthia station in Birbhum, Indian Railways spokesperson Anil Saxena said that the exact cause of the accident would be known after a thorough probe into the incident. The toll in the train collision rose to 66 today with three injured passengers of the Vananchal Express succumbing to injuries at the Burdwan Medical College Hospital.
