Guru Nanak Jayanti
The 539th birthday of Sri Guru Nanak was celebrated in the city with much fanfare. Guru Nanak Jayanti as this day is popularly known, witnesses Sikhs and people from other religion seeking blessings of spiritual leader. Members of the Guru Nanak Sabha organized a grand function at the ground near Shahid Minar. Devotional songs and langars (holy feast) were also parts of the great festival.
